A Proposal for Ending the Season

I had a great time this season! DLV has given me so much this year.
• More competitive racing than I could handle.
• Definitely improved health.
• Four astonishing weekends of racing that showcased amazing talent on the track.

I was also treated to:
• A killer DLV website with content updated constantly and results being posted (fairly) fast.
• An article about DLV on National Public Radio.
• Articles in online blogs.
• A multi-part broadcast from a major television news show.
• Countless online photo albums and videos (including helmet-cam!).
• Incredibly engaged sponsors who helped create posters and shirts and food.
• A visit from Dick Lane himself!

When you look at the list of contacts for the EPVA, you see some familiar names: Pete Antonvich, Brian Sullivan, Bill Thomsen, Ryan Pumpian, Jeff Hopkins, John Kelly, John Dowd, David Schwalbach, Steve Hill, Timothy Gallagher, Melissa Petterson, Maggie Sweeney and Katie Sweeney. Like all of you, I want to thank all of the folks who made this happen week after week. What an extremely professional, gifted, and devoted group of people!

MY PROPOSAL:

So here’s what I propose that each of us do to acknowledge how important the DLV is to you and celebrate the end of the season.

TAKE ONE WEEK’S BEER MONEY, OR WHAT YOU’D SPEND AT STARBUCKS, OR SUBWAY, OR THE BIKE SHOP AND GO OVER TO THE DLV ONLINE STORE AND MAKE THAT MONEY A DONATION.

We’ll help get the track painted, let the BLL help one more kid, and give one more vote of thanks to those who worked so hard for us.

Good idea. I've dropped my

Good idea. I've dropped my starbucks cash in the paint can already. I encourage others to do the same!
