felt tk2 vs. motobecane team track

ok, i have taken the beginners class and a little racing. now i need a bike. i have no physical experience with either one. price is not so much an issue. what i am looking for is something that will last me a long time. i am leaning more towards the tk2 mainly because i can go to a shop and see it in person. i am looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts. thank you Kevin

TK2 would probably be a good

TK2 would probably be a good option. I think there is one regular at the track at the moment, and seems nice. Either would probably serve you well. Outback Bikes is stocking Blue track bikes, they might be worth checking out.

my 2 cents

I started racing this season after taking the beginner class last fall. I got the team track based on its price and DA components. No complaints yet. If you want to check it out let me know, I'll be at the track on Tuesday for sprints.

thanks but....

ok i went to outback. looked at the blue tr250. lovely bike everything i want is on it. so now the plot thickens. the felt tk2 at peachtree bikes was all fine and dandy, but the only differes between the blue tr250 is that felt has its house brand wheels and seven hundred dollar less.its hard to like the blue tr250 for basicly the same bikeseven hundred dollars more. so than i check out atlanta cycling. spoke with mike a very smart track mind. who plants the seed of a custom built frame. or cannondales capo 1 hand built in the U.S.A..or the trek t1 all of which id have to upgrade a part or two. so more option but looks like the blue tr250 might just be the lucky winner when i get the money. theres so many options so who knows what ill end up with.hopefully a bike. as for the motobecane show and tell tuesday.id love to come and see it. thank you, and ill try to be there. thank you all, Kevin

The big thing is going to be

The big thing is going to be how the frame fits and feels. You can get a good wheelset to replace the ones on the Felt for less than the $700 difference to the Blue (although the replacement wheels may not be as good as the Blue wheels).

But the frame is the heart of the bike. If that isn't right, it doesn't matter what else is on there. So make sure it fits well and everything else can be upgraded.

i got one

okay i got the bike. which one you ask, the trek t1 09. hand made in the U.S.A. which was the main selling point and that it fit of course. this piece of art is beautiful. what blow me away was when they had me on the fit bike it said i needed a 60 in trek. i am 6 foot 38inch inseam 6 foot 2inches wing span. it fits like a glove. all they had to do was change the stem. the cool thing was that it was the last one. some guy ordered it a while ago, and when he came in to pick it up. then said "i dont want that”. strange, but worked out for me. the price was super 750 for a originally 999 ,but uncle sam wanted 45 so it work out to be 795 great deal i think. thank you all see you at the velodrome.
Kevin

oh and

it weighs only 3 ounces more than blue. trek 60 frame without pedal weighing 16.9. blue 56 frame 16.6 weighing. i am not big on weight but i think that was cool. before i forget. thank you very much atlanta cycling these guys are great i highly recommend then. super good service their not a big box store and mike in fitting is great help with everything track. hard to find people like that in bike shops. the only thing is they don't stock track bikes, but like he told me “it is rare for people to come in looking for track bikes". but you can always order one so check them out for future bike needs. if you don't already have you favorite shop thats so hard to turn from. thanks again
