Some Questions from a beginner here..
Hey all, I'm Alex. I am a student at Georgia Tech and am going to be enrolling in the beginner class here in July, and I have a few Questions
I bought a bike this year with the intent of track racing, and I have yet to get the chance to sign up for the class. I've been it riding around campus, and all has been fine.
First, my gear is only around 82", will this be a problem for the class?
Also, I bought the bike with some Syntace TT style base bars on it. I know these are not aloud at the track, but the stem that is on it is a 26mm, making it hard to get track bars without buying a new stem. Is it essential to have track specific bars or can I buy so road bars for the class until I can upgrade the stem as well?
Thanks to anyone who can help me out, and I'm looking forward to some track time!

Hi Alex, Your 82" gear
Hi Alex,
Your 82" gear will be perfect for the class, our loaner bikes have 81" on them. The rule on handlebars is ANY drop bar is allowed, so it doesn't need to be a track specific drop bar, road will work fine. It just has top be a drop bar, not TT. For what it's worth SOPO bike co-op may have some equipment that could be suitable, they are in East Atlanta Village, and they have a recommended donation of $5 per part.
Great
Thanks Jeff! I will definitely check out that bike coop.
