Basically allow users to post polls in forums with either radio (single selection) or check box (multiple selection) lists. Then they can submit their vote and/or view the results, which would show either a total number of votes next to each option or if you want to get really nifty, a bar graph.
The option to post it to the front page (which is not something I had in mind, but I'm sure at some point it may become useful) or to put on any other page module we want would be good too.
I thought it would just be turning on a "poll" module in whatever backend you're using. But, maybe it's as difficult as estimating the unladen airspeed of an African swallow.
I'll let Jeff and Pete figure out that first question -- I wanted it to poll for events to run at pursuit night.
For the second question, sure! I don't know how hard it is to enable/disable that, but maybe it could be a checkbox (like the allow comments on posts)? The person making it can decide if people can cancel/change votes and/or see results prior to voting.
If that's a hassle, I really don't have any strong feelings about it.
"Content editors" can post polls now via create content -> poll. and they'll show up under "polls" on the left under "DLV online". You can link to them from the forums/front page by just pasting in the URL to them.
Define you some feature
Define you some feature requirements instead of a possible usage scenario and we'll see what happens :)

I think I figured out a good
I think I figured out a good way to do this. They won't show up the same way as forum posts, but it should make sense!
* Who should be able to create polls?
* Should people be able to cancel or change their votes?

Thanks man!
