Beginners/Masters/Women where art thou?

Yesterday's Tuesday racing turnout was slim.

Remember, Masters is anyone 35+, not 40.

At every track in the world - there is a "relaxation" period immediately following any championship. In this case - masters nationals - people got enough bike racing in for a few days.

True

True. That's exactly how I feel, but where are the beginners? A class just graduated recently, plus there are several that haven't moved to "C" yet. Early in the season there were enough "Ds" to have them split in two groups of 12. Now only 5-6 show up total.

Beginner here. I would very much like for Tuesday night racing to continue! I am planning to attend the remainder of the race days.

Tuesday racing will continue

Tuesday racing will continue till the season is finished at the end of September. We can't force people to race, we can only offer some great racing allow people the opportunity to show themselves. No need to get too worried about the turnout quite yet.

Cool

Cool. I see that you guys ended pursuit/sprint nights, so I was worried about Tuesday nights as well.

BTW, this wasn't an attempt to force people to race. It was just a thread asking if the interest was still there.

Pursuits ended at my request.

Pursuits ended at my request. It wasn't some conspiracy from the man :)

Oh god. Please don't make this an issue, everyone.

I enjoy Tuesday night racing. It's much more laid back and easy going than Wednesdays and very enjoyable for those reasons.

The last Sprint Night had ONE person show up and no leader (due to car issues).

I wrote this to inspire the women, masters, and D racers to come out before it's over. Not to hint at a conspiracy.

I haven't seen much of an effort from anyone to get people out on Tuesdays...so I'm trying to do so. But, I get slammed for it. So much for taking initiative.

I paid my money for an annual pass and I'm trying to get my money's worth.

I'm not trying to make it an issue, but I do want to make it clear for beginners who don't know us personally that just because one event stopped doesn't mean the rest will.

I don't want somebody who just passed the class to feel like they won't be able to get out and race for the rest of the season on Tuesdays because I canceled pursuit nights for low turnout.

I'm all for motivating people -- I just don't want to confuse or misinform them. Even people "in the know" thought that higher ups than me pulled the plug on pursuits when in reality I decided I didn't want to continue it for the rest of the season. I can only imagine that people outside of the group that's been around for awhile will jump to similar conclusions.

And nobody slammed anybody. I was just setting the record straight that I decided to cancel it.

tuesday night

i am coming tuesday from asheville ad bringing another racer. Please post something before tuesday morning if you do cancel. thanks.

I will continue to race Cs on

I will continue to race Cs on Wednesdays, Carleton, so I'm not likely to race with the Masters this season.

bigmama - Tuesday racing will continue until the end of our season, which conludes at the end of September, so the last Tuesday will be the 29th of September.
For the record, Tuesday racing is not and was not ever in danger of being cancelled due to lack of numbers.

Awesome!

There was a great turnout last night and some good racing.
