Using the internet to broadcast info

Since we have lots of smart software engineers with lots of enthusiasm how about we take advantage of the internetz to help those that race and train at the track.

We already have Pete's weather camera which is awesome. Very cool. I use it several times on the day I'm headed out.

Some random suggestions:

I use twitter and email on my phone as do many others. I'm not sure how the Twitter integration works now. But, it would be nice to get "GO" or "NO GO" tweets or email from race organizers on race days.

For example, we only had 6 or 7 last night for Monday Night Advanced training. The low turnout was a mix between people not being sure of the class being that it was a holiday and the threatening weather. The weather held out, but no instructor. The weather was cloudy but nice and dry.

Today has random showers in Buckhead but it still may be worth it to head down.

Just a thought.

Today for example

It's rainy, but it looks as though the clouds will pass in the next 30 minutes or so which should allow for racing at 7:30.

Twitter just got twittered

Twitter just got twittered that racing is ON

Twitter...

We raced tonight with 6 racers. We had a 200mm sprints, matched sprints, and a Miss n Out.

Actually two of the racers who weren't going to come found out via the website and decided to join us. Yaaay for technology.

Weather

Everyone knows about the weather link & webcam, right? Updates every 10 minutes, no input necessary...

BTW...

I see the infield just got mowed.
