Suggestion for this upcoming weekend

I hear that there may be a beginner's class this Sat & Sun. If so, someone might want to post something so as to not unduly piss off the 15 or so people we have been getting on Saturdays (and the 10 or so on Sundays).

I don't intend on being run off if the courtesy of posting well ahead of time cannot be given.

This is the first I've heard

This is the first I've heard of it. Brian doing that?? Maybe making up for rained out days??

Is this a catch up for the

Is this a catch up for the weekly program or a stand-alone two-day class? If it's the latter, I'll broadcast a message to the message boards and to friends so they can get certified.

Its a stand alone class,

Its a stand alone class (ie. Sat & Sun), mostly bike polo folks who already ride fixed. Maybe some folks from out of town, never know how many actually show up but the FB Event lists 10 riders (plus 6 maybes) at the moment. As always Brian is the man so coordinate with him on max class size, etc.

This is exactly what I mean...

Nobody knows, and nothing is EVER posted on the website / calendar / Message Board. We just show up and it's "Oh, we have a calss today.

I have no objections to classes. I have objections to them shutting down the track, with no notice, for the entire weekend.

I hear ya, but the track

I hear ya, but the track won't be shut down for the entire weekend.

Directly from Brian,
--------
I won't have folks on the track until close to noon on Saturday and will make sure this does not interfere with the regualr morning track workouts.
--------

Us regular weekend morning folks should just come a little earlier this weekend and plan to be done by ~noon. Brian will accommodate us and just dovetail with our usage. Plan accordingly.

That's fine

but if I hadn't brought this up, would we know it? That's my point. I'm not psychic - I can't know to come early if there's no announcement!

I'll also note that this does not say anything about Sunday - is there a class on Sunday as well? The calendar says No No No, but the announcement that Carleton is putting all over the place says Yes Yes Yes.

Inquring minds (and training bodies) want to know!

And here...

There has also been times

There has also been times when events have been posted on the website and no-one reads it to know that we have something going on, so it goes both ways. I talked with Brian about changing the times for his class(to be later so people can train in the mornings), and will post to the front page, and events page once they are confirmed.

There's a big difference

...between an unpublished event that (potentially) conflicts with open track time that no one knows about (heck, I hear even the track director didn't know there was going to be a class this weekend... ;) ) and one that is published, so that people have a chance of knowing. In the second case, you can say "Hey, we published it, you have nothing to be upset about. In the first case, all you can say is "...oops."
