John Dowd was working on a timing thingy
Speed thing is a speed
Speed thing is a speed display unit to go next to the scoreboard to display the group's speed for the crowd to witness. Was also talk of integrating electronic timing...
Oh we need to have a red line
Oh we need to have a red line painting party at some stage in the next little bit

Is the display multipurpose?
I ask because I was looking at a kick-ass coaching/training tool that allows heart rates to be collected from riders from receiving posts placed around the track. If I got one to play with, and if some racers were willing, we could display some heart rates (they also have an add on for power meters). You know, Versus TdF style.
Not sure if I'd get the system to just play around with at the pro races, but if the display could be set up rather generally, maybe it could be cool?
On a side note, does anybody remember the Philly race from a few years back, when they put cameras under the saddles of the riders? All you saw were legs moving up and down or some nice crotch shots if they stood up? That was awkward... but, helmet cams on riders in the races would be kinda cool (I know we had a guy doing it who wasn't racing, but maybe a racers-view would be interesting).

Strike off...
... the gutters and roof. They have been scraped and swept respectively.
