2009 Pro Racing Series Information

Formerly known as the Festival of Speed, our new Pro Racing Series is set to take our racing to another level. Big thanks to all of our sponsors that have joined us again for the coming season and some new ones, especially Kazane / No Brakes who will be presenting the first PRS event of the year, 'The Keirin'. Thanks to long-time DLV sponsors, Outback bikes who will be presenting "The Wheelrace" and Thomsen, Ltd. presenting "The Madison". Here's the dates :

Friday May 8th - Need for Speed Sprints
Saturday May 9th - Kazane / NoBrakes presents 'The Keirin'

It was below 30 and we still had a small group come out and join us and East Points Mayor Macon in the Ride to the Capitol.

Georgia Rides to the Capitol Tue March 3rd

Our ride to the capitol will be leaving the Dick Lane Velodrome at 10:45am on Tuesday, March 3rd and riding via East Point City Hall, up route 29 to Hurt Park in downtown Atlanta, to join with the other rides. And then the last few blocks down to the State Capitol building. The ride length is approx. 8mi, we will be riding at speeds of approx. 12mph, and the ride should take approx. 40-45mins. Monday Advanced Training Starting this monday

Weekly Advanced Training Sessions will start up this coming Monday, March 2nd. Please check the Advanced Training for more info. Also note a new rule, if it is at or below 40deg at 6pm the training session will not be held.

February Velodrome Workdays

Saturday February 7th 9am to 3pm
Saturday February 21st 9am to 3pm

Leafing and Bagging and other things needed to make the velodrome looking nicer for 2009. And you'll be working towards your 2009 volunteer discounts on your rider fees!! No experience needed.

Winter Youth Program has started

Sundays 3 to 4:30pm - cancelled for rain and temperature below 45F.
Ends March 29th.
Open for all youth 9 and up.
Bikes and helmets are supplied; however, if you have your own helmet please bring it along.
Program is free - but donations are always welcome.
