2010 Working Man's Madison
This 2 day madison will be held on Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th of June. The Working Man's title is a tribute to the race's mid-week time slot. The two days of racing will feature 3 categories. The Madison category will be open to all teams who are competent madison riders, and limited to 10 teams. We will feature a combined A/B category for those A's and B's who aren't in the madison field. These racers won't be racing with handslings in the regular madison style, but they will be racing as 2-man teams across both days to compete for points to become the champion pairing. The C category will be run in the same vein as the A/B field with riders teaming up to collect points towards the overall standings.

Notes
1. Madison field will be strictly limited to 10 teams. In the event that we have more than 10 teams sign up on the day, preference for the race will be given based on category of riders, A riders, then B riders, then C riders. Any other ties in this department will be broken by sign in time on the day. Teams must use regular hand slings for exchanges, no touch exchanges.
2. A/B and C non-madison fields will be open for individuals and teams to compete. You may not switch teams or join a team once you have competed in a race. You don't have to complete both days of racing to be eligible for the overall omnium.
3. Madison points breakdown:
All sprints in the madison will count towards each teams overall points, 5, 3, 2, 1. Laps take precedence over points during each madison sessions(not individual events)for the duration of the 2 days. For example, if you take a lap in the first madison session, you keep the lap for the entire 2 days.
Other points breakdown:
Miss and Out/Scratch Race and Flying Team 1 Lap TT: 9, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1
Non-Madison points breakdown
All events: 7, 5, 3, 2, 1
*Results of each race only will count towards the overall standings, not points gained in a points race for example.
4. Flying Team 1 Lap TT:
Madison Field: Madison teams will be required to make an exchange during the flying lap TT. An exchange must consist of the 2 riders making contact at some point during the lap.
Non-Madison Fields: Non madison riders will complete the flying lap in a team sprint style. One rider must lead for the first 1/2 a lap and then pull up the track to allow their partner to finish the lap. Anybody riding individually for the duration of the 2 days will be paired with another individual in the interest of saving time.
Time will be taken from finish line to finish line and Teams will start in reverse order of the standings after Day 1.
5. All ties will be broken by the results of the 1 Lap TT, in both the Madison category and the A/B and C non-madison groups.
