April 7th Monday and Thursday 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Our free Youth After School Program has been combined with our Bicycle Little League. Starting April 7th and will be held on Monday and Thursday nights between 6:00 and 7:30pm. For youth 8 to 14, no advanced registration is needed - just show up ready to ride. We have youth sized bikes and helmets - but feel free to bring your own helmet if you have one. That day's class will be cancelled if it rains an hour before or during the event. Your parents will also need to sign a release wavier.
We are proud to announce the introduction of a new category of racing. The time has come for us to expand our program to continue to grow and thrive. Starting April 1st, we will have the following 4 categories for weekday racing:
1. Elite
2. Expert
3. Competitive
4. New Track Racer - MOVING TO TUESDAY NIGHTS
...also know as the Handicap
Keeping inline with changes at the Dick Lane Velodrome in 2008—We are excited to offer Wheel Races throughout the season. Starting at the first Wednesday night race we will now have one wheel race per night that will include all three categories. The event will happen before the "Elite" Points Race. To do this we will need at least 9 holders, so I encourage everyone to step up and help out if you're not racing. We hopefully will be offering more opportunities throughout the year, including at the Festival of Speed. For now, your reward will be lots of experience and a trophy at the end of the season to the best overall "Scratch" rider. As more details become available, like a Cup Sponsor, we will post it at the dedicated Wheel Race Cup page. Wheel Races are a huge hit with Spectators and are a lot of fun. This year will be a trial year that will allow us to create a database of your scratch "Marks" for the following years, so I wouldn't take them too lightly.
-->Wheerace Cup Information
We are working out all the details, but we wanted to get these dates in front of you. This a great opportunity to learn how to ride the madison by one our best riders. We will post more information as it becomes available. Note: In doing so, there will be no "Advanced Training" on these nights, but we encourage those riders to take the class.
