Velodrome Ride of Silence Tonight
Submitted by jeffhopkins on Wed, 2012-05-16 10:43The Ride of Silence is being held on Wednesday 5/16 at 7pm at locations worldwide. The rides are held to honor our fellow cyclists that have been injured or killed on the roadways, to raise awareness of cyclists being on the roads and to ask that we all share the road.
As part of the event we will be running our regular warm-up pacelines in silence tonight to honor our fellow cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling. We encourage everyone to wear a black arm-band to show their support of those cyclists.

Submitted by jeffhopkins on Mon, 2012-05-14 14:59With the first Pro Race of the season in the books, it's time to turn our focus to our Junior State Track Championships event. The race flier is completed and can be seen over at the Junior Track Champs page: http://www.dicklanevelodrome.com/pages/juniorchamps.html . It is importasnt for all parents and riders to read the race flier and understand all of the details. If you have any questions, contact us, jeff@dicklanevelodrome.com for clarification. As always we will need some additonal volunteer hands to help get the event going smoothly, so we'll be putting the call out for volunteers in a few weeks.
Thanks to All
Submitted by jeffhopkins on Mon, 2012-05-14 14:56A huge thanks from the EPVA to all of our Riders, Spectators, Sponsors and most importantly our Volunteers for making Ethic, Inc. presents 'The Keirin' a spectacular and successful event. Most definitely without the tireless work of our crew of volunteers we wouldn't be able to put on such events, nor would we be able to run them without racers, and of course our race fans provide the biggest cheers that get everyone excited!

Submitted by jeffhopkins on Mon, 2012-04-30 09:52We are looking for a volunteer to help with the upcoming Pro Race Series event for one of the most important tasks that we will need to have taken care of on the day. We need someone to operate our scoring computer throughout the evening to help us keep up to date with the results and scoring of the races. We use a fairly simple system to keep track of everything, so the main skills needed are the ability to click a mouse and type some words and numbers in periodically. We would need this person from approximately 2pm to 9pm on Saturday May 12th. Training will take place on the job as we go through the evening. If you think you can help us with this task, drop us a line, jeff@dicklanevelodrome.com . You'll also have a great view of the racing throughout the day from the judges stand!
